Island Living Buildmode Expanded - Thirty-Eight New or Recoloured Items

It was about time I finished this. Do people realise how tedious recolouring is? Definitely thank the people that have the patience for it, they deserve it. That is the main reason this has taken so long, and that is because I wanted to add the unnatural siding colours to a few of the items (not everything) for a bit more variety. The motivation to do this, which was needed before starting the set, took a long time to muster. But is is done and now it is ready to share (as well as SFS letting me upload).
What you need to know:
  • Obviously, this requires Island Living EP to work
  • The addon colours aren't optional, but if you don't want them you will need to manually delete the swatches
  • The original items are not tagged with my search phrase i use but can be found like usual with the pack filter
Updates:
  • 28/10/2020: Now compatible with patch 1.66 new cutout system
The Build/Buy items feature:
  • REQUIRES ISLAND LIVING EP
  • non-default with recolours
  • 38 meshes and recolours in total with between 15 & 24 colour/style options:
  • find items easily using phrase "IslandLiving" in search bar (try this tutorial to easily find my sets)
  • style (found under "suburban Island" tag) and colour filter compatible
  • custom thumbnails

There are 2 download links. Choose your preferred option. To install, extract the archive using WINZip/WinRAR/7Zip/Unarchiver and place the folder or package files in your mods folder, then look for them in your game. If you are having issues check out my Installing Content help page.

    While I don't do any recoloring myself, I understand the massive undertaking it is. After seeing your newest set, I immediately understood the reason it took some extra time, in addition to SimsFileShare being down for awhile. Thank you so very much for the wonderful, high quality work that you do. My game wouldn't be the same without your build and buy sets (as well as the CAS items) that you create. The best I can do for now, is demonstrate my appreciation by thanking you in a post. I have a few favorite creators, but by far, you are #1 in my book.     BROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. This set is literally EVERYTHING!!!!!!! I swear if I could only use one Build/Buy creator, it would be you. No one else even comes close.

    hey just wanted to let you know that the windows and doors change back to original color on diagonal walls for example I picked black and it turned back to brown...

    I love the set very much hope you can fix this

      once you place it should place as the colour you have chosen, it just wont until that point. It seems to be a bug with cloning windows with diagonal meshes, unfortunately there is nothing i can do on my side and i have tried. Seems to be hit or miss if it happens.

    I'm so mad that the latest patch has broken cc windows and doors (even with the new placement features) I used this set ALL over Sulani and it's just not the same without it. I didn't come here to complain though, I never realized how essential your build/buy mods were to my game, and really i just wanted to say thank you, for all the style, work, and creativity that you've been putting in for YEARS. No matter how many times i purge all my mods and start all over lol you will always have your own dedicated folder (cuz you have made a ton of stuff lol), thank you! Keep on Keepin on!

    These have to be my favourite ever! I never understood why the build mode for this pack was so limited? Thank you so much for the updates to all of your build items, i reckon simfileshare will be red-hot with all the downloading going on! Just out of curiosity, have you ever thought of filling out/expanding on the Get Together windows? Stay safe :)

    Would you consider doing a resize of the Island Living Crystal Clear "rugs"? A 1 tile version and a diagonal version would be very appreciated.

    Hey just wanted to let you know that this pack seems to be broken with the latest patch (9/21/21). I finally got inspiration to build a Sulani-esque mansion so I downloaded this set, and after putting it in my game I couldn't change any swatches after placing windows without undo-ing it. Which wouldn't have been a big deal had I not already built the entire exterior. I downloaded this and Grand Henford at the same time, but I only removed IL (because I was really hoping it wasn't Grand Henford) and my game went back to normal. All of my other mods are updated, and i have almost all of your other Add-on sets and this seems to be the only one causing a problem. I truly appreciate your builds as someone who almost exclusively builds and sees where the game is lacking and just doesn't have the intelligence to fix it like you.

      That is incredibly weird bug. I just put the IL addon windows on my test lot, and I can scroll through the colours before placing, can change after placing, and i checked on diagonal walls too (that was a little buggy because of the game at time of making these). I haven't encountered the bug you are describing, and I am at a loss as to what could be causing it.
      Is this affecting all windows, or just the IL addon? There may be a conflict somewhere so i would double check there aren't duplicate files. Also, try removing everything and just having the IL addon installed to see if it still creates the same issue. My guess is a conflict, but again, I have never heard of a bug like this.
