I miss CAS. Not as much as I thought, but when it comes to some aspects of the game, I really, really do. When it comes to walls, it is especially evident with wainscoting. I want to be able to pick the wainscoting and wall separately, but alas, that would mean millions of wall and wainscot combinations. I don't have the time or patience for that. So this is what I came up with: 3D wainscoting. It places like wall decor, is seamless (thanks to simsza for the shading tutorial link <3) and comes in a multitude of colours. It is not as versatile as walls because if its limitations around some windows and doors, but I found in usable enough to release it so others can enjoy it as well.
The Build/Buy items feature:

Now, there is one download link with the 6 objects combined in a merged file. There is no separated file this time because each peice is required for a full set. Extract the archive using winRAR or WinZip, place the package file(s) in your mods folder, then look for them in your game. I hope you enjoy.
This is really a great idea! I don't miss CAS as much I thought I would be, thanks to all you fabulous creators, thanks!
ReplyDeleteWOOOW!!! This is great! I also miss CAS, but then I remember how fast my game loads and how smooth it goes compared to the sims 3 and I stop missing it, jajajaja! And thanks to creators like you my game has a wide variety of styles. I tend to fill my houses with your furniture and decoration. So thanks a lot for all your work!! I was thinking that it'd be great to have wainscotting with slats instead of squares, you know, like your wood slat wallpapers to have even more to choose from, hehe. Thanks again! You're awesome!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I will be doing some more in the future when I get around to it ;)
DeleteMy eyes just popped out of my head when I saw this! I love wainscoting and this is the best wainscoting I have seen yet for the Sims 4! Thank you thank you thank you!
ReplyDeleteLike ^^ they said, all my sims houses are filled with your furniture and in my opinion you're the best CC creator out there.
I love the wainscotting but not around my windows, can you please make a window/ cabinet height?
ReplyDeleteI have no plans currently to make more, perhaps in the future
Deletewhere can i found the windows in the two pictures? :)
ReplyDeleteMade my mutske at TSR. Its a 2 part set: http://www.thesimsresource.com/downloads/details/category/sims4-sets/title/bungalow-windows-part-2/id/1312274/
DeleteHello Peacemaker! I just wanted to report to you that the wainscotting is showing shadows on the wall when placed. Wasn't sure if you were aware of this or not :) Great work!
ReplyDeletethat is probably caused by the occluders by other objects which i can't fix unfortunately.
DeleteHello Peacemaker! So just a question I have been using these wainscoting pieces in my builds and I have a few walls that I am not using them on by design and was wondering if you ever thought about making something similar for crown molding and baseboard?
ReplyDeleteThis was more of an experiment to see how modular wall decor would work and if I would use it regularly, and TBH i don't use it much so it's not a concept i would expand upon for my gameplay.
DeleteShould I use this since you updated some of the stuff in this collection seperately and this hasn't been updated? Also do you perhaps have a list of everything that still works?
ReplyDeletethe credits are just cc used in the pictures. Yes, some of those have been updated and can be found on my blog if you search. The wainscoting itself has never needed an update as it has never broken.
DeleteOkay thanks for the quick reply!
DeleteI tried downloading the PC wainscoting file, but it said it couldn't download securely. What should I do? Thank you.
ReplyDeletetry google drive then
Deletei have been using this on my builds for the longest time, i just got a new laptop and anytime i download it wont show in my game.
ReplyDeleteit is an .rar archive file, so make sure you extract it first. 7Zip or WinRAR will do it
Deletei forgot to mention this is on macbook, will the both still work?
DeleteAh, that is probably the reason. Macbook auto-extracts ZIP files, but not RAR. You would need unarchiver for Mac to extract the RAR
