I really love having another option for making sofas. But unfortunately they aren't basegame because of the chaise and corresponding base mesh needed to make them. I did discover that the tuning was base game when I made my initial designs, but without the required base mesh with it's unique groups, there wasn't a way to make a base game version. Alistu on tumblr worked with some other simmers to create a base game file for creators to use to achieve what was potentially possible. Because the chaise is not BGC, the goal here was then making a design I felt would work without a chaise for those without Dream Home Designer. I think I struck the right balance and very happy with the end result. Updates:

ReplyDeleteThis works just like kitchens, if you want access to all the pieces you need to turn off auto-placement by clicking the cog next to the swatches when you hover and click on the item in the catalogue.
DeleteLove this set! Is there any way for the round wedge piece to align with the other pieces? It doesn't seem to be aligned when I add it as a section.
ReplyDeleteMaxis must have patched an issue I had where i needed to offset the curved peice to line up when i initially made the sectional. I will have to update the file as well as the hinterlands one to remedy the issue.

Deleteis it cut off because of your screen size? If so you may just need to use the object filters to move the sectional's location in the catalogue. Not much I can suggest other then that.

But I have some problem with all sectional sofa, all of them have a big reflection of light I don't know if you understand but they "shine" to much with light on. It never happen before. So it make the texture of the sofa looks weird, its look more like leather than fabric.
ReplyDeleteare you using the sectional outside, or on a room that acts like it's outside? I do need to tweak it because of that, but it was never intended to be used there hence why it was never picked up.
Deletemm no I tried on every room, its just that after an update (quite long ago) it became like this. Only on modular sofa and not on your regular sofa, they all have beautiful texture like the picture. 😭
DeleteI looked in my game and i wouldn't consider it super shiny at all (only outside where it has a little, but thats modelled after Maxis sofas). I need to adjust Phumo and Alsund, but this design doesn't need adjusting in my game. So i am not sure what could be affecting your game, perhaps you are referring to the other two? Or maybe a graphics setting.
