Myra Living

Yes, another living room set. I love choice and I wanted another modern design to choose from to go with all the mid-century stuff I am building at the moment. This set actually started out with the 3 seat sofa which was a rejected design for the Hamptons Hideaway set which was too good to toss. It also incorporated a stillborn idea for an office set, so I combined the two to create this. I am happy with how it turned out and its now one of my favourite sofa designs for my homes.

Due to the length of these posts and for ease of updating, you can find the download and info under the cut.

A few notes on this set in regards to usability and features:
  • Both bookcases are actually bookcases, sims can grab books and read from them so they are not only usable, but a great display option too
  • To use all slots on objects, be sure to have MoveObjects cheat turned on
  • Be sure to place the pillows while holding alt to have free rotation and movement
  • The coffee and end table also has small slots on the lower shelf
  • The credenza has a TV slot
  • I have linked textures for the lights and document holders so you need to have the low pendant or the empty document holder ingame for the other styles to work
Updates:
  • 14/12/2017: updated for the 12/12/17 patch that broke some surfaces
  • 12/12/2017: Updated for C+D
  • 21/01/2017: With the toddler patch breaking a few things, I have taken the opportunity and gone through and updated my sets to fix issues and generally improve on some things. Here, I have updated all seating with tags and toddler rigs, updated bookcases for toddlers, and adjusted the shape of the origami chair to look better and cause less clipping with legs.
  • 8/7/2019: Mirror compatible with GF interactions
The Build/Buy items feature:
  • basegame compatibility
  • non-default
  • 42 meshes in total with between 10 and 36 colour/style options:
  • find items easily using phrase "Myra" in search bar (try this tutorial to easily find my sets)
  • style (found under "modern" tag) and colour filter compatible
  • custom thumbnails
  • Style tool compatible

  • Special thanks to my friend jorgha-haq for letting me use her simlish magazine covers for the magazine document holder saving me time making my own.
Now, there are 2 download links. One for a merged package, and another with all packages separate within a folder in a RAR archive. To install, extract the archive using WINZip/WinRAR/7Zip/Unarchiver and place the folder or package files in your mods folder, then look for them in your game. If you are having issues check out my Installing Content help page.

  1. Wah! Thanks as always for doing this, all this geometric furniture looks so cool! And those colourful books! We really had a lack of books for decorating in our games. Thank you, thank you!
And for all the wonderful CC you always make, thanks for dedicating your free time to make us simmers happy!

  6. Hi! I was wondering, I don't know if you accept requests, so I was kinda hesitant to ask this, but could you make a modular version of the wall-mounted console, the no-drawers one? To make a rectangular shelf as long as you want. It'd be great if it could be done. Thanks for listening!

    1. Sorry, but i don't take requests. I only make items I would use for my own game and I really don't see myself using something along the lines as you described (not to mention to awkwardness of the slots for such an object). I wouldn't rule it out though, so i will keep the idea in mind when I do shelving again.

    2. Actually I planned to use it for an idea for a kitchen I saw in Ikea the other day, using your Lennox kitchen small cabinets and this console as shelf under them to put plants, longer than two squares, of course. Well, I just had to ask. Thanks a lot for answering!!

  8. What's the difference between merged and separated collections?

    1. No difference really, but the benefits comes from difference aspects of how you like to have your game. If you like to keep organised and don't want to recolour content for your own use, the Merged file is handy for that. If you want to pick and choose what files you want (for instance if you don't want the higher poly items) and perhaps want to add recolours, then the separated is better. Really depends on your needs. Most people opt for the merged package though.

  9. hi! the hanging lights and the fileholder with magazines don't show up in my game. Well... They do but they don't have their colors. Am I missing something? I couldn't really find anything on here about it? only that I need to have something for 2 of the downloads which I guess are the 2 I'm talking about. But it doesn't say what I need to download for them to work?

    1. The textures are linked for both sets of those items so you must have the short chandelier and the empty document box in your mods folder (aka don't remove those items from the separate download) for those other styles to work. I do this because i ended up having to upload bigger and bigger files each time for these sets and my net is not that fast so its more of a efficiency improvement for me. I did mention this under the few notes section above too.

    Merci d'avance,

    1. Sounds like you haven't updated your game in a while. That was an issue with the Cats and Dogs update. If you redownload that should solve the problem.

  12. I am putting these in my mods folder but they do not show up in game which is strange because all other mods are downloading

  13. Everytime I extract the archive it says, " The archive is either in unknown format or damaged.

    1. No idea what causes that error. They are standard ZIP format so they should extract just fine. you can try downloading from the other source (the mirror link) as it could have corrupted on the download, or grab the files individually.

  15. Just a FYI I got a Better Exceptions/Last Exceptions error for this set. My sims wouldn't eat or drink and I did the 50/50 method and found that this set was the culprit! No idea how or why as I do love this set!
