This set came about from a Pinterest image where Japanese and Scandinavian style were fused together to create something new. I really loved the idea and was inspired to make a set based on the theme. There are parallels between the two styles, but the beauty is in the differences and married together become of so wonderful. I got so carried away I had to split this set into two parts, or my internet might of thrown a tantrum (and gives me time to organise the other part). So enjoy the first instalment.
What you need to know:
- The sofa is not a sectional, and will not be turned into one, so i would appreciate if you don't ask. They just happen to be pieces that work together or not.
- The sofa shader was changed to counter to light up smoother, but this does throw off the colour as it will appear brighter.
- The modular cabinets and shelves were made before the announcement and release of Dream Home Designer. So they don't snap like those, but theu should still be easy to use given how i designed them.
- For better placement of items, don't forget to toggle 1/4 tile placement on with F5
- To place seating as chaise lounge, this requires MoveObjects to be Turned On

ReplyDeleteAMAZING! thank you!!!
ReplyDeletethis is amazing, ive been looking for stuff in this style to renovate some of the snowy escape houses
ReplyDeleteOh my god oh my gohd!!!!! This set is everything I want from furniture!!!! Sorry to bother you but is there a way to make it a bit less poly? You don't have to do it just show me the way pls, I want to use this set in my every build!!
ReplyDeleteI have maximised it as much as i can for the designs, there really isn't much else you can do to reduce it.

DeleteAmazing! I'm looking forward to it!Do you know if we can fix the chairs yet? Thank you x
DeleteS4S has a batch fix, otherwise i am trying to upload new versions by SFS is throwing errors at me.
Delete:D My apartment in RL was redone in a Japandi style ^_^ now all my sims' homes will look like mine lmao! Beautiful work as always!!
ReplyDeleteIs there a cheat or something needed to place items in the cabinets? It's only letting me put things in one slot on each.
ReplyDeleteI always advise MoveObjects On simply because some footprints are huge (even on Maxis items) which can play havoc with slots.
DeleteYou probably figured it out, but just in case someone else runs into this because I did as well. I had the "extender" pieces on top of the "top" pieces. Once I switched the stacking order they slotted fine with moveobjects on.
DeleteThis set along with the matching dining room are going to look ideal in a new build that I'm working on. Modern ranch house with stone accents. A perfect blend with the clean Japanese styling of the furnishings.
ReplyDeleteThank you
